CHALLENGE TIME!!!!!

Hello my sweet friends,

So I will be honest I am not in any way competitive, sometimes I wish I were because I feel like it would make me play better during family games. Anytime I find myself getting competitive this really mean/cranky/jealous side of me comes out. So let's just so it is better that I'm not competitive. As for those who are, it amazes me the determination and drive it gives them. Though I am not competitive I am extremely motivated. Not all the time, but when I am, there is no stopping me...that is until my stupid "negative self talk" kicks in and I have to tell it to "BE QUIET" (p.s- Adelade, my 1.5 yr old didn't see me use the word stupid, okay?).

Okay onto what my big IDEA is...well it's not really MY idea, people do it all the time and my Husband got me thinking about it again. I am going to hold a.....CHALLENGE!! (yeeeah I am!!) Okay, so what is this challenge you ask?
The challenge will involve those who want to lose weight and reach a fitness goal.
The Challenge is going to be over the course of 12 weeks and starts on FEBRUARY 26th! Yes it is the day bootcamp starts, but you DON'T have to be a boot-camper to be a part of the challenge.
Here is what you need to know:
START DATE: FEB. 26th END DATE: MAY 21st
How to win:
  •  Whomever loses the greatest percentage of body fat AND reaches their fitness goal will WIN. There may be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize winner depending on how many people enter.
What do you win:
  • Well you are going to be pretty darn happy with yourself for having a goal and reaching it and you'll be healthier and more fit and you will also win a cash prize....DID I say CASH prize?!
How to enter:
  • Everyone puts in $10 (...viola the cash prize) all of it goes to the winner, and perhaps the runner ups!
  • Submit your weight in lbs
  • Submit your fitness goal (make sure it is a reasonable goal, something you cannot do right now but could do within 3 months. for example running a marathon in 3 months if you haven't run before would not be a realistic goal) If you want help coming up with one for yourself let me know.
  • Submit your measurements (I will let you know how to do those if I don't do them for you)
  •  Submit a before and after picture (Front, profile and back)
So who is IN?!?
If you are IN just email me/facebook me/comment on this post and I will put you down.
So the challenge starts next Tuesday but you need to submit everything to me by MARCH 5th 2013.

I am excited to see how this unfolds. I will be getting in on the action to, though I won't be losing any weight as I'll be gaining a baby over the next 6 months, but I will have a fitness goal!!

Also as for posting any of the contestant information on my blog I won't do so unless I have your permission. As this is still a work in progress there may be changes as it happens.

Good luck to you all! I am SO excited!! tee hee!

Happy 2013

I hope this finds you all well and good. Did you all enjoy your holidays? I hope everyone got to spend time with family and friends and take sometime to relax. I am happy to say I got to do all of those things. I very much enjoyed spending everyday of my holiday with my husband and daughter. They bring so much joy to my life!!

I am happy to report boot camp is starting in less than a week! Wahhooo!! Check out my bootcamp page with all the details. It is going to be a great time, I can feel it! Even if you aren't doing my boot camp. I hope you are all keeping up with your health and fitness. It is easy to jump on the "New Year's Resolution Band Wagon", but if it helps you get a jump start on reaching for your goals I won't stop you. All I can say is remember to be nice to yourself, set reasonable goals, and find a way to enjoy reaching them.

Here are 2 things that REALLY helped me lose weight and get more fit, though I'm sure you could apply these principles to any goal you have set for yourself.
1. I made a workout chart and put in on my fridge, it had all my workout days planned, including days when I rested. Then every day when I did what the chart told me to do I got to color in the square. It made me feel pretty happy with myself. I know it sounds like something you do when you are 10 yrs. old, but hey it worked for me. It helped to have a daily visual reminder of what I was going to do.
2. I changed to way I talked about myself and my goals. I always said "when I", not "if I", I said "I will", not "maybe". I talked in a way that I believed in myself entirely. It felt weird at first and I had to often correct myself, but eventually I saw how it was helping stay confident and accountable.

So here is to another year! Happy 2013! :)

Three Cheers for my --Bootcampers--

I just got home from bootcamp, it has been a long day. Though I MUST give a shout out to the ladies that sign up and come out to my bootcamp each week.
They deserve a big "HURRRAAA!! "
Honestly, they come in with smiles on their faces, they even leave with smiles on their faces and DURING the workout they are even smiling...k not the whole time haha!!

I am so grateful to be a part of something that brings people together in a way that helps everyone. We all get a GREAT workout and stretch, we get to socialize; venting off steam is totally allowed!! I always leave bootcamp feeling better than I did when I arrived and it is because of my bootcampers!!! They come despite all the other things they could be doing, or could have spent their money on.  They show up and push themselves, they allow me to push them (not literally!) and they work through the sweat, they don't stop and say "I'm done", they keep going! I admire each one of them and thank them for letting me help them on their journey to a healthier fitter self.

I had one participant say last week,
" this is such a great way to end the day, it clears my mind and it makes me feel so good". It's true that hour of bootcamp is their time, their time to focus on themselves and forget about what they did or didn't do that day. It is well deserved "me" time! I am happy to give them that. It is the least I can do :)

Basically thanks for another awesome night ladies.
I look forward to Thursdays workout!

YAY!

I love my family

This post goes out to my Fam-jam tonight. It is important to have a good support network in life. To have people that keep you motivated in reaching your goals. My family is a HUGE support, they encourage me and help me every day!

Well it is Sunday night and Matthew (my sweet Husband) has ordered me to stay on the couch and RELAX! I tried to fight him on it, but since I am laying here on the couch writing this he clearly won. I have been sick for the past 2 days and I must say it has made me grateful for many things, one of which is my family.
Let me tell you how I felt their love these past few days:
1. You know you are loved when your hubby wakes up at 3 am to rub your back while you puke last nights dinner up (sorry for the visual...but it's true)
2. You know you are loved when your baby girl stops crying when she's in your arms.
This is my baby girl, smiling for all the world to see!
3. You know you are loved when you haven't done your hair or make-up in 2 days and your significant other still wants to kiss you and tell you that you're beautiful.
4. You know you are loved when your hubby let's you take his spot in bed just because it makes you feel better.
She is such a good helper!
5. You know you are loved when your Dad watches your kid so you can sleep.
6. You know you are loved when your Hubby cleans out the puke bucket...ewwww!!
The 2 loves of my life :)
7. You know you are loved when your Hubby lays in bed with you just so you can fall asleep.
8. You know you are loved when your baby girls wants to snuggle with you on the couch...even if it is for a Milli-second.
9. You know you are loved when your significant other makes you toast with honey just the way you like it.
10. You know you are loved when your baby girl just wants to have your attention just so she can make you smile.

I am so happy to have a wonderful Husband and daughter. Some days I feel like I don't deserve them, but I know we are meant to be a family. They make my life brighter!! They are what motivate me to keep on going on days where I want to give up, they keep the fight in me!!

I love my family!!

Motivation

What get's you motivated to go workout?...What get's you motivated to achieve a goal?

You may think because I am a Personal Trainer now, and since it's my job to work people out and motivate them to live a more healthy life, that it is easy for me to wake up at 6 AM to workout....yah, it is still not easy.

I may be one of those annoying people that like working out and getting my sweat on, but sometimes getting started is still really hard for me.  I am still human and find it challenging at times to schedule working out into my busy life. See, even I give myself excuses why I don't workout!!!

The biggest thing that motivates me to workout right now, is all of you! My friends and family that have encouraged me and motivate me everyday to keep going and not give up. Knowing that I am an example to others helps me to understand the influence we all have on one another. I'll be thinking of you when my alarm goes off tomorrow! ha!

So in writing this post I am going to challenge myself to keep working out (especially to not feel guilty for missing a few days) and start running again. I just signed up for a 10K race on December 15th so I've got 7 weeks to train for it. It is just a fun run, but I want it to feel good and fun...hence the training!! The run sounds really REALLY fun, because each runner gets a Santa Suit to run in! How great is that? I won't lie that is one thing that drew me to it! I love dressing up!

I hope you are all doing well, and that my 'openness and honesty' helps you to keep going and not give up on your dreams and goals! We can DO IT!

Happy snowy October!
Ang-
